"From the ice, streams and brooks are freed, by spring's fair, revitalising glance; in the valley, happiness of hope is greening..." These world-famous words mark the beginning of Goethe's Easter Walk, a classic of world literature. The cultural and festival town of Bad Elster is now presenting this "happiness of hope in the Elster Valley" as Chursächsischer Frühlingszauber to mark the start of the 700th anniversary year of the spa's first mention in the blossoming royal grounds. The third edition of the enchanting spring festival will take place from 15 March to 21 April 2024 and, in addition to numerous first-class cultural and theatre events on the "festival mile of short distances", will also offer royal Easter holidays around the decorated Easter fountain (28.03.-01.04.) and an interwoven KunstFest weekend (19.-21.04.).
