The Heimatliederweg (Homeland Song Trail) in the Geyerscher Wald forest opens up wonderful panoramas and tranquil forest corridors for hikers with a song in their hearts. Nineteen granite blocks bear plaques with local songs by Anton Günther, Stephan Dietrich and others. Two colour-coded hiking trails, each 5 km long, invite you to stroll and sing your way through the beautiful forest. The routes lead past calm forest ponds, old mining relics, ruined mines and memorial stones. Rewarding views of the ridge can be enjoyed on the various paths. Peace and nature guaranteed. Clusters of seats are thoughtfully positioned for a rest.
Among the mining relics is the idyllically situated Holzbruchbinge (collapse shaft) with a small waterfall, which is located about 100 m away from the path. To enjoy these natural surroundings to the fullest, it is worth taking a little extra time to stray from the designated route: On Route 1 (red), at the beginning of the tour, on the left-hand side of the roller ski track, you will find a signposted path with steps leading down into the valley. A beautiful view opens up to the waterfall; further down is a water therapy pool with a rest area. Then it’s back up to the roller ski track, and Tour 1 continues as signposted. On Route 2 (green), the waterfall is almost the last thing on the tour. At song plaque 19, turn left. After a few metres you will come to the idyllic rest spot and the water therapy pool. After climbing a few steps, you are greeted with a beautiful view of the waterfall. Heading back into the valley, Route 2 continues along the Hüttenteiche ponds to the car park.
