Time out in the middle of the forest. Surrounded by untouched nature, the Altenberg-Zinnwald youth hostel "Jägerhütte" is located on the ridge of the Ore Mountains. Hikers and cyclists can enjoy the fresh mountain air at an elevation of around 850m during summer on a variety of trails. The high moor offers a fascinating landscape with a unique fauna and flora waiting to be discovered. The snow-secure location in winter makes the region a paradise for skiers and sledders.
Zinnwald is situated in the midst of the historical ore mining area, where various traces can still be discovered today. The mining history educational trail and the Zinnwald visitor mine are in close proximity to the youth hostel. Other interesting hikes lead to the bobsleigh track in Kohlgrund or to neighboring Czech Republic with Mückentürmchen and Stürmer, the highest mountain of the eastern Ore Mountains.
The house has 75 beds in 17 rooms with shared shower/WC, some with private shower/WC.
