Dance Platform Germany 2026

At a glance

The Dance Platform Germany 2026 presents the most remarkable German dance productions of the last two years from March 11-15 in Dresden - hosted by HELLERAU - European Center for the Arts.

From around 550 productions, a jury has selected 13 pieces that exemplify the artistic diversity and innovative strength of contemporary dance in Germany. The 13 productions can be seen in 32 performances on 11 stages in Dresden - in addition to HELLERAU - European Center for the Arts at the Staatsschauspiel (Schauspielhaus and Kleines Haus), Staatsoperette, tjg. theater junge generation, Societaetstheater and villa\wigman.

A total of 150 artists are involved, including Sasha Waltz & Guests with Rimini Protokoll, Adam Linder & Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop, Claire Cunningham, Eszter Salamon, who was already a guest at Tanzplattform Deutschland 2012 in Dresden, and the Dresden company Charles A. Washington/Pinkmetalpetal Productions. Jessica Nupen, Katharina Senzenberger, Elsa Artmann/SANFTE ARBEIT, Ewa Dziarnowska, MOUVOIR Stephanie Thiersch/Alesandra Seutin, Regina Rossi, Ceren Oran & Moving Borders and Kat Válastur will also be showing their work.

Pitching Sessions
In addition to the 13 productions of the Dance Platform Germany 2026, the jury has invited ten other artists. On 13 & 14 March, they will present insights into their artistic practice to the specialist audience in pitching sessions. Following the presentations, there will be an opportunity for questions, in-depth discussions and informal exchanges. The following artists have been selected:
13.03.: Adam Russell-Jones, Constantin Trommlitz, Fia/Sophia Neises, Lotte Mueller and SHIBUI Kollektiv
14.03.: Colette Sadler, Cranky Bodies a/company, Polymer DMT/Fang Yun Lo, Yeliz Pazar, ZINADA

12-15.03. Mornings on Fire: Dance for all with "The Saxonz"
Every morning, various artists invite you to get to know different dance styles and get moving together in public spaces under the motto "Mornings on Fire" - open to everyone and in all weathers.
Katharina Christl, Rector of the Palucca University of Dance and jury member, will kick off the festival on Thursday, March 12 at 9 a.m. with a warm-up on the Portikus in front of the Festspielhaus. On Friday, March 13, Yeliz Pazar will heat up the audience with Waacking at the Goldener Reiter. Joanna "Sestra" Mintcheva from The Saxonz invites you to dance along with her breaking moves on Saturday, March 14 at 9 am. And finally, on Sunday, March 15 at 10 a.m., "Mornings on Fire" with Natalie Schäfer and Dancehall at the Goldener Reiter will be the crowning finale.
