When darkness falls over Gnandstein Castle and the gates close, the most important time of his service begins for gatekeeper Michaelus. On Friday, May 22, 2026, Gnandstein Castle invites you to a special night tour entitled "The difficult service of the gatekeeper".
From 21:00 to 23:00, visitors will experience the medieval castle complex from an unusual perspective. Together with the gatekeeper, the tour leads through the castle at night and up to the church. Guests learn exciting and entertaining facts about the tasks, challenges and dangers of the gatekeeper's life in the Middle Ages.
