Cinderella is back! From November 2025, Moritzburg Castle near Dresden will once again be transformed into the magical setting of the popular fairytale classic.
From November 21, 2025 to March 1, 2026, Moritzburg Castle will once again become a place of pilgrimage for fairytale fans from all over Germany and beyond. The location for the most famous fairytale film of the century will host the popular winter exhibition for the 14th time. The exhibition "3 Hazelnuts for Cinderella" welcomed its 1.5 millionth visitor at the beginning of 2025 - and the fascination continues. The castle has been receiving requests for the coveted tickets since mid-August. From November 1, it finally begins - advance sales for tickets to Fairytale Land. The most important film scenes are recreated in lovingly staged pictures and richly decorated rooms. Costumes, props and melodies create a very special atmosphere. Guests can slip into original visitor costumes and become Cinderella herself in a ball gown. But the costumes for the prince, the king or the stepsister and Little Röschen also make for fun to try on and a very special movie feeling.
Off to the ball - dance steps in the dining hall, which is open to the public for the first time
This year, the Baroque palace's magnificent dining room will be transformed into a ballroom. The valuable furniture and delicate porcelain have been moved aside to make room for a dance floor. Guests can dance to the Cinderella melody in matching costumes. "Let's go to the ball" is this year's motto, which once again allows guests at Moritzburg Castle to immerse themselves in the world of fairy tales.
Hazelnut special: On the 1st and 2nd weekend of Advent, an artist will engrave hazelnuts with names in the castle kitchen. Using delicate craftsmanship, unique pieces are created, e.g. from the hazelnut key rings, which are available to buy in the museum store.
Tip: Be sure to look for the shoe! When visiting the fairytale castle, a detour to the "Cinderella Staircase" is of course a must. It is so named because a bronze shoe has been installed on a step in memory of the film scene. The perfect place for selfies with loved ones and special souvenir photos.
