At the Geoportal Porphyrhaus, located directly at the Gleisberg quarry, VR glasses await curious visitors. One push of a button – and you find yourself in the midst of the former quarry, experiencing the daily life of the workers and can virtually mine the Rochlitzer porphyry tuff yourself. Bookable time slots: Tuesdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., as well as Saturdays at 10 a.m. Cost: 6 euros for a 15-minute time travel.
