Una parte del maestoso maniero di Olbernhau ospita l'omonimo museo, che è stato continuamente ampliato dalla sua apertura nel 1957. Un tempo Olbernhau era il centro della produzione di "utensili utili", del commercio di giocattoli e dell'artigianato artistico dei Monti Metalliferi. Oltre a questi punti focali storico-economici, la mostra presenta anche la produzione di mobili e la falegnameria galante, la tornitura e l'incisione tipiche della regione, la pittura a fuoco e l'intarsio.
L'esposizione permanente analizza Olbernhau dal punto di vista della storia naturale e comprende un'altra attrazione: le famose montagne meccaniche locali. Una visita al museo vale sicuramente la pena, per tutta la famiglia.

The Museum Olbernhau is an attractive adventure museum on three floors for the whole family. It tells the history of craft and industry, from the gun industry, to everyday objects, to the toy industry and folk art. Carvings testify to the craftsmanship of the inhabitants. A technical and natural history department as well as special exhibitions complete a varied one Museum visit.
