Il punto di partenza dell'escursione è il parcheggio „Roßplatz“ e il vicino Erzgebirgische Heimatmuseum a Sayda. Qui trovi ulteriori informazioni sul „Saydaer Maler-Weg”, con il suo percorso urbano lungo 2,6 km, che è un „Sentiero tematico“ e accessibile anche in inverno. L'itinerario escursionistico passa accanto a diverse cavalletti del Maler Weg fino al Dorfchemnitzer Weg, che si percorre passando per la Saydaer Höhe fino alla „Alte Mühle” a Voigtsdorf, da lì prosegue su un sentiero in salita verso Wolfsgrund. Attraverso le „Drei Häuser“ si raggiunge il museo tecnico „Eisenhammer” Dorfchemnitz. Da Buchleite si arriva passando dal monumento naturale „Marderlinde” all'area di „Blockhausen”, resa famosa dal „Sauensäger” Martin. Sono visibili numerose sculture in legno, capanne esperienziali e il tavolo più lungo del mondo. Il ritorno avviene passando per Mordsteinweg, Geleitstraße, Kammweg a Dorfchemnitz e lungo l'ex argine ferroviario della Kleinbahn attraverso Friedebach fino all'area urbana di Sayda.
