Along the Linkel and Pittler streets, businesses were established. These included the Polypon music works and the gear factory of Max Müller. Today, some of the factory buildings are still preserved. The railway line Leipzig – Halle and the freight outer ring were significant for the settlement of companies. The freight yard and the Leipzig-Wahren railway depot was one of the largest employers around 1905, with 1,400 employees. Along the Linkel and Pittler streets, businesses were established. These included the Polypon music works, the gear factory of Max Müller, the Elida AG with cosmetics, Dux automobile works, and the large machine tool factory of Pittler AG. The tour presents the history of the companies, the continuation of operations during the GDR era, and the factory buildings.
